Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about AsoTools functionality and security.

API Connection Procedure

Navigate to settings. Enter Key ID, Issuer ID, and the private key p8 file content. Click 'Save & Verify' to validate.

AsoTools immediately verifies the token, securely stores keys in the macOS Keychain, and notifies of connection status. Fast switching between multiple keys is supported.

Setup Demonstration
Screenshot Size Inheritance Principles

The system automatically adapts larger device screenshots for smaller ones where aspect ratios are compatible, adhering to Apple standards.

Current iPhone inheritance chains: 6.9" → 6.5" → 6.3" → 6.1" and 5.5" → 4.7" → 4.0" → 3.5". For iPad, 13" is the base for 12.9", 11", 10.5", and 9.7". Custom screenshots always take priority over inherited ones.

Inheritance Schema
Media Asset Management (Screenshots & Video)

A unified App Store-style gallery is implemented: video previews appear first, followed by screenshots. Full reordering via Drag & Drop is supported.

Poster Frame selection is available for videos. All operations are buffered locally and sent to App Store Connect in a single consistent batch.

Bulk Change Saving Mechanism

All modifications (metadata, localizations, media files) accumulate in the local state. You preview the final version state before server submission.

Saving executes an optimized request sequence, eliminating version conflicts (HTTP 409) and ensuring data structure integrity in App Store Connect.

Security and Access Key Storage

All sensitive data, including private API keys, is encrypted and stored in the system Keychain. The app communicates exclusively with Apple servers, ensuring no third-party data transfer.

Real keys are disabled in Demo Mode, allowing safe interface demonstration and team training without risking production data compromise.

Demo Mode Purpose

Demo Mode provides full access to AsoManager functionality without API connection. Includes a pre-installed dataset for exploration.

Demo data state is persistent (saved between launches), making it an ideal tool for experimentation, training, and creating demonstration materials.

Multi-Account Management

Yes, seamless switching between different App Store Connect accounts is supported by changing API keys in settings.

An isolated set of keys is maintained for each account, ideal for managing client apps or separating Development/Production environments.

App Store vs. Website (PKG) Versions

The Mac App Store version undergoes Apple review and is installed/updated via standard store mechanisms.

The PKG version is downloaded from the official website, ensuring store independence. Both versions are functionally identical and provide the full AsoManager feature set.
